SF - Jeremy's Birthday!

Our second full day happened to also be Jeremy’s birthday, which meant he got to call the shots!
We started off with breakfast at Mama’s which is a well known spot in San Francisco. We had heard of queues up to 2 hours, but luckily we only waited about 40 mins or so for our table. And the food was worth the wait. Jeremy went for a breakfast sandwich with ham, egg and cheese. Whereas I went for the eggs benedict, which had the tastiest thickest slices of bacon you’ve ever tasted.

Since Mama’s in pretty close to Lombard street, which is know as the crookedest street in the world, we decided to go check it out. We walked up to the top, by which time I think I had worked off all of my breakfast! It was cool to see, and has 8 switchbacks on the road. From the top of Lombard street we caught a cable car all the way downtown through the Nob Hill area. Riding the cable car never gets old :)

We had booked to go on a sunset catamaran cruise for Jeremy’s birthday so we headed home to freshen up before heading out again. The cruise was booked through Adventure Cat travel and I can’t recommend it enough.
Once on board we were each given vouchers for 2 drinks and there were cheeses and snacks for us to enjoy. The catamaran sets off just before sunset and is perfectly timed for sunset over the Golden Gate bridge. It’s amazing to me that something man made can still be so beautiful to look at! It was a really great spot to watch the sunset from, and a sunset I won’t forget in a hurry.

When I asked Jeremy what he wanted for dinner on his birthday his response was “Steak”, so I listened and after a bit of research I booked us a table at 5A5. It was a good choice with some of the best steaks I have had. Jeremy had the filet mignon and I had the strip steak and we shared some mashed potato with candied bacon (best invention ever btw) and truffle mac n cheese. Seriously delicious. At the end of the meal they also surprised Jeremy with a chocolate mousse cake which was also amazing. Such a good end to an great day. Happy birthday Jem, I hope you enjoyed it as much as I enjoyed sharing it with you :)
