Vegas Baby

One of the things I was looking forward to when we woke up the next morning, was chilling at the pool! The MGM has a big pool complex and it was amazing spending the day soaking up the sun and relaxing in the pool. Even though we had really good weather in LA and San Fransisco we didn't really have any time to relax in the sun, so it was much needed.

Paradise
I lay out in the sun for pretty much the whole day, only stopping to get into the pool or the lazy river. Jeremy left about halfway through the day to go play a poker tournament, as this was definitely the highlight in Vegas for him.

After getting my vitamin D fix, we met up back at the room to freshen up before heading out for dinner. We had booked tickets to see Tiesto at Hakkasan nightclub for that night, but we knew that he wouldn't be on until atleast 1am, seeing as the club only opens at 10. So we thought the best thing to do would be to do an earlyish dinner, head back to the room for a power nap before heading out. Don't know if that was the best idea in hind sight, but thats what we did.

Vegas is known for their incredible buffets, so we decided to check one out at the Aria hotel. We stopped off to try our hand at a few slot machines and roulette tables (and to score some free drinks - you get drinks for free as long as you are gambling). Once we got there, we realised that we had seriously underestimated the buffet! There was literally any type of food you could think of, and all the food was good quality. Steak, sushi, seafood, mexican, italian and the list goes on. And then there was still dessert! Unfortunately I didn't take any pictures, but here is one from the Aria website to give you an idea. http://www.aria.com/dining/restaurants/buffet

After eating ourselves into food comas, we had a quick power nap and then made our way to Hakkasan. The club was massive, and the sound and light show was amazing. It was pretty packed, but really good fun. We had a really fun night and only got home in the early hours of the morning, with tired feet and slightly sore heads :)

The next day we woke up pretty late, ordered some room service and then decided to make our way to the pool to relax. When we got to the pool though someone gave us comps for Wet Republic which is MGM's pool party venue. We decided not to miss the opportunity to check it out so headed over there. It was lots of fun, sun shining and music playing and everyone in the pool. We had a drink, soaked it all in and when we had enough, we headed to the proper pool to chillax.

We decided that we should go check out some of the other hotels and so made our way to the Caesar's Palace forum, which is a shopping center but it really feels like you are on the streets of Rome. We also went and checked out the Venetian which is made to look and feel like the canals of Venice. Very tacky but pretty cool.

My sister-in-law had recommended that we check out Mix bar at the top of the Mandalay Bay hotel. It was such a good recommendation, and I would recommend you check it out if you are in Vegas. We happened to catch it during happy hour and just as the sun was setting, so got some amazing views to go with our drinks and food. Such a great ending to an awesome time in Vegas.
